The alcohol-based dye is what you want for coloring epoxy. It won’t interfere with the chemical process. The specific product I use is Mosers’ Ebony Black Alcohol-based Powdered Aniline Dye. A small amount of the powder (less than 5%) mixed in will turn the epoxy a deep jet black.
